Abstract

In this document we will share personal and professional experiences, as well as the critical reflections and conclusions that emerged from the working group Homiletics within the pastoral and theological formation paradigm, whose notes were elaborated in the context of the Latin American and Caribbean Practical Theology Consultation. Its content is framed within the discipline of Practical Theology, since homiletics is concerned with reflecting on the preaching of the church. We review its history, context, objectives, contents, and current socio-political challenges surrounding the strategic development in the field of homiletics, also analyzing its role within Practical Theology at the present juncture.
