Disability and corona virus pandemic
Abstract
The pandemic can help us make the lives of people with disabilities visible and improve our practices in local churches, facilitating their inclusion and participation as full members of the body of Christ. We must investigate the sometimes very distorted concepts we have about disability and the realities experienced by people with severe disabilities. A reading of the text of Luke 14, 12-14 shows us how Jesus taught a radical new concept of hospitality that can be applied in our current context. The family with a member with a disability may need pastoral support and accompaniment, especially in times of coronavirus.
