Abstract

This article reflects on “the new normality”, to reason that the pandemic reveals a global reality surpassed by the sin of humanity, both at the individual and structural levels. We analyzed the apocalyptic discourse of Jesus in Matthew 24, and other texts, that through social and cosmic catastrophes expresses the great interventions of God and that, contrary to signifying the end of history, announce a new birth. It presents a narrative contrary to the dominant logic official one, and it is proposed to think about ethical actions for a devastated humanity. Just like the gospels, the alternative stories to the official story open ways outside of that dominant logic to resist harmful life models and change specific realities of death.
