El alimento en los profetas del siglo VIII a.C.
Relatos sobre alimentos y su simbolismo social y religioso
Abstract
Food, as one of the basic needs of human beings, is found throughout the Biblical text. It is present begtnning with the Biblical story of creation; norms, orders, prohibitions and permissions, banquets and sins, constantly revolve around different foods. The prophets use food as metaphor and Symbol within their discourses and messages. In particular, the prophets of the 8* century BC (Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, and Micah) guide the reader along a route in which one can understand the meaning of sin, injustice, apostasy and crimes; but also justice, hope, restoration and reconciliation are all seen from the vantage point of food. The present arricie leads the reader down this pedagogical pathway and offers clues for the interpretado!! of the prophets’ discourses and messages.
