Religión y poder en Colombia. Magisterio eclesial-
Teología y política desde el análisis de algunos pronunciamientos de la Conferencia Episcopal de Colombia (CEC)
Abstract
Until mid-twentieth century, the Colombian government was shaped by the diverse synergies produced entre the Catholic religious authorities and the hegemonic bourgeois political classes. The Colombian Conservative Party, with a right wing ideology, was always identified as the Catholic party, and was opened supported by the Catholic hierarchy. This state of affairs has been changing since the new political constitution of 1991, which defines Colombia as a secular state.
Religion and power in Colombia has been a pairing that has shaped the way of being country and of being church, and has caused the irreversible process of secularization to be slower for some and more painful for others.
