Religión como poder y el criterio del vivir bien.
Una mirada crítica a la religión y el poder en el contexto boliviano
Abstract
This article takes a critical look at the interaction between religion and power, analyzing the re-configuration of the religious field as a result of the sudden appearance of ancestral practices and the growth of the Pentecostal and Neo- Pentecostal churches. It relativizes the concept of “fixed identity”, recognizing religious and cultural syncretism as characteristics of the multi-religious nature of Bolivian society. It reflects on the process of “de-constituting” religious power, in the context of the power relationships of the churches in Bolivia. It starts from the perspective of the “vivir bien” (living well or good life), which criticizes structures of power and religion that dominate and destroy human beings and nature. It understands the “vivir bien” as a criterion for discerning the actions of any project in society, postulating a world in which “everyone lives well, including nature.”
