Del trigo al pan hay mucho afán
Abstract
In the current structures of Latin American society, women contribute to the economy through their maternal role that sustains affective ties and daily family life. This silent work is not recognized by the mercantile economy in quantifiable terms nor in the social wellbeing that it produces. The ideological base for the economy to ignore this contribution is easily seen in the single parent model, which currently represents at least half of the Latin American population.
