A world with a soul
For an animistic spirituality in times of environmental crisis
Abstract
Modern humanism places the human being as the center around which everything that exists revolves. At the same time it fragments the human being and separates it from the community of life and considers non-human beings as inert. The environmental crisis requires a vast revision of the convictions, spiritual and academic, that found the lifestyle of contemporary society. A spirituality adapted to the new conditions is urgent. In this article we venture through the narrow and mysterious paths of animism, as a possible response to the spiritual vacuum that consumer society has generated.
