Origins, concept, development, projection
Abstract
A succinct description is made of the "Pastoral Care for the Promotion of Creation" (IERP), a program that raises awareness: (1) about the harmful consequences for human health and the environment of the model of "agribusiness" prevailing in the cone South American and (2) on Christian responsibility in the care of creation, seeking ways of sustainable production and consumption with nature as a whole. The historical background of the project is developed and the way of agricultural production in the region is analyzed, based on monocultures and the massive use of agro-toxins. Finally, the theological and pastoral foundations of the program are indicated, a balance is made of its preliminary results and of the possible future projection of the pastoral action program.
