The development of communities
— 10 theses on the need for a new "Church Theory"
Abstract
The current world crisis with climate change, migration and most recently, the Covid-19 virus pandemic is also an ethical and spiritual crisis. The consequences of the “Modernity” project raises questions about the identity and tasks of the church. The author proposes a new theory about the church that combines knowledge of organization theories with a deep reflection on the essence of the church. The first step must be reorienting the church from a permanent self-reflection to focusing on the kingdom of God. The second step ist to reestablish the basic elements that define the church - martyria, koinonia, diaconia and leiturgia - in order to build a bridge to the cybernetic instruments and categories.
