"God is not a god of the poor ..."
Prosperity theology as one of the neoliberal and savage capitalist market theologies
Abstract
A theoretical discussion on the "idolatry of the market" from the Latin American critical thinking is presented and some aspects of the so-called "Prosperity Theology" are addressed. The article presents a theoretical discussion about what would be "market idolatry," a theory that will serve as a framework to address the so-called "Prosperity Theology." The research problem is whether Prosperity Theology, in general, can be interpreted as a “theology” of the neoliberal and extreme capitalist market.
